Hi, How can we help?

FAQ – Menu Analysis Reports

What is a Menu Analysis Report?

A Menu Analysis Report is a document we prepare that reviews your cycle menus against CACFP meal pattern requirements and flags what’s needed for the menus to be complete and CACFP compliant. It shows missing components, items that need a CN label, days that don’t meet the whole grain-rich requirement, and any other meal pattern gaps.

Where do I find my Menu Analysis Report?

The Menu Analysis Report is not stored in MyFoodCloud. We prepare it manually based on your most recently submitted cycle menus and send it directly to you by email. If you haven’t received one and want a current analysis, contact us and we’ll prepare and send it.

How do I read the Menu Analysis Report?

Each item on the report is something that needs your attention before the menus can be approved. Common flags include:

  • Missing CN label — usually for processed items like Corn Dogs, Steak Fingers, or Fish Sticks
  • Missing whole grain-rich item — a specific day has no WGR grain identified
  • Component missing — a meal slot is incomplete (e.g., breakfast missing a fruit, snack missing a protein)
  • Substitution suggestion — quick fixes we recommend, like swapping in whole wheat bread for a day with no WGR

Send us updated information (CN labels, menu corrections, etc.) and we’ll update the analysis and your MyFoodCloud menus.

Can we schedule a call to go over my report?

Yes — let us know if you want to walk through it together. For most clients, we send the report by email along with a short note explaining what’s needed, and that’s enough. A call is helpful for first-time analyses or when there are several items to discuss.

How often is my menu analyzed?

We analyze your menus whenever you submit a new cycle menu or make changes. If you’re rolling over to a new program year or significantly changing your menus, send the new cycle so we can run a fresh analysis before it goes live.
